Did I pique your interest? We are only one episode into Season 2 and we already have major implications of what is to come. In the foreground, we have an impending war amongst Daredevil and his network of, well let's call them "allies", Mayor Fisk and his interesting partners, and a kind of rebellion network that has been leading it's own path ultimately against the actions of Mayor Fisk. If we are to look at that as the main course, then I want to bring your attention to a side dish that has main course potential: Heather Glenn..............AS THE NEW MUSE. During episode one, we saw that Heather has been seeing hallucinations of Muse. Why? You can pass it off as PTSD sure. She had a face to face confrontation with Muse and was almost killed before eventually being the one to end his reign of terror. Traumatizing for sure. What if I told you it is deeper than that? Heather is struggling mentally, and rightfully so, but she is also starting a descent that can see her take up the mantle and continue the will of Muse. "How?" you ask? Let's jump into the source material.

We are already on the path of a storyline in the comics that saw Muse die and return, only through someone else. Following his death, Muse was condemned to eternity in Hell where he quickly grew accustomed to everything. He continued making art out of the suffering around him, but still wished to spread his work on Earth. One day, he witnessed the arrival of a part of Morgan Whittier's soul, a struggling young artist who felt like she was losing her mind after her peers rejected her. Recognizing her as a kindred spirit, Muse went to her and shared his view of the world with Morgan, inspiring her to continue his legacy when she returned to the land of the living. Although at first Morgan thought this was all a hallucinatory dream, Muse began appearing to her as a ghost to drive her to unleash her true potential. She killed her art teacher and began making macabre artworks out of her victims, all the while under the supervision of Muse. Their activities caught the attention of the second Daredevil aka ELEKTRA, whom we will be seeing very soon.

Now you see how the dots connect. Muse is dead, but his will lives on, through Heather Glenn. I do not expect this to come to fruition until Season 3, however. We have so much more coming our way in Season 2, and this slow burn under the main story will be something none of the other characters will see coming until it is too late. Heather is already being influenced as evidence to her changing her initial evaluation of Swordsman and while that is not directly due to Muse, it plays a part in the downfall. Expect to see more these small "moral conflicts" going forward.
