Welcome back to our "What to Expect" series. Today we are discussing The New Simpsons Movie, that was originally announced back in September 2025, with a teaser poster being dropped at Disney's D23 Event back in August of 2026 with an official release date of July 3, 2027. That has since been delayed a couple of months to September 3, 2027. Not really a big deal there, as Disney has shuffled a few dates as of late, but let's get into this film.

So what are we dealing with? Well, it's been 20 years since the first Simpsons film, and even though that hasn't hurt the franchise, that number will play a role here. Ready? I will say, this is a bit spoilery so here is your warning. LEAVE NOW or forever be spoiled

⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️

Marge grows convinced that Bart and Lisa are quietly struggling, and that she and Homer are to blame. When Marge's attempts to make Homer a better parent fall flat, a space-time wormhole mysteriously opens, giving her something more revealing: the Simpsons family and the whole Springfield gang from 20 years into the future arrive. The Simpsons we know meet older versions of themselves and get a glimpse into the future, including a terrible secret about what's to come.

So it becomes present day Simpsons vs Future Simpsons squaring off with each other. Nothing like some space - time hijinks am I right? It definitely seem to be a trend.

That's all for now. Stay tuned for more!
