What is a Manhunter?

Before Hal Jordan, before John Stewart, before the Green Lanter Corp; the Guardians needed a way to police and impose order across the universe.

The Guardians of the Universe created artificial beings to find and eliminate evil while maintaining order across the cosmos.

Of course, that is until the Massacre of Sector 666. A glitch in the system leads the artificial soldiers to one conclusion: Order can only be maintained if life was eradicated. Trillions of lives were lost in Sector 666. Only 5 survived.

Green Lantern (2005-) run by Geof Johnns in Jul 30, 2008 we get the secret origins of the Manhunters, which picks up the threads laid out in Issues 2 and 3.
