What is Zack Snyder Cooking Up?

ZACK SNYDER. There, I said it. Zack. Snyder. Easily one of the most polarizing names in the film industry, hasn't been on Instagram platform very long, but he has been VERY active, sharing multiple posts a week, with majority of them coming straight from Zack Snyder's Justice League (ZSJL). The most recent one being 3 days ago, at the time of this writing with a poster of ZSJL and the caption "Zack Snyder's Justice League is currently trending worldwide! 🔥 Top 10 on Netflix in 21 countries including: France, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, and more. Watch it now Netflix!"

All true. In fact, ZSJL is the 8th most watched movie on Netflix worldwide even though the film has always been available on HBO Max. Seemingly out of nowhere, ZSJL has once again become a global streaming sensation. Why is that? Well for starters, ZSJL is now available on Netflix, which also happens to be where Zack Snyder is currently employed. Another possible reason? Well, right now Snyder's DC Universe as well as everything else WB related is in the middle of being acquired by Paramount/Skydance (maybe). That has the fan base alert as they await the next destination of the DC IPs, which has most likely prompted more watching.

Those who are familiar with how Snyder operates know that he does not post without intention and there is always another message behind what he posts. A few weeks ago he posted a selfie from the Paramount lot. Translation: He is currently working on his brawler film, under Paramount. Zack posted a pic saying he was hanging with his buddies at A24. Translation: Shortly after, A24 announced "Escape from New York" with Snyder attached to lead the film. Zack also has plans for a 300 prequel, which would be produced under the studio that nobody expected him to return to: WB. He has a completed film, "The Last Photograph", that he is currently shopping around as Netflix passed on said film, so Snyder is definitely busy. So why so much emphasis on ZSJL, a film that was released in 2021?

Hang on tight, because I know some of you will hate to hear this: Snyder still has plans to finish his DC story. He has said as much himself in interviews and when asked directly, he does not shy away from letting it be known that he still has NEW storyboards waiting to be used. Put that together with his weekly posting of ZSJL content, some being never before seen shots of all the actors, and it's not hard to follow the breadcrumbs without any inside information from any of us here at The C.A.G.E. We have shared with you before, that there is a plan in place not only for ZSJL 2, but ZSJL3 as well. Ben Affleck has not shared very many details about his solo Batman movie, because there is a chance he will still be able to make that movie. Those are words from Affleck himself, not speculation on this end. All of these very clear signs point to one thing: Zack Snyder is not finished. Let him cook.
